Hello everyone. I am writing a bit later today than usual because I wasn’t feeling great this morning. Usually I try and come down to the library after breakfast, but today just wasn’t the day for that I guess. But now I’ve had lunch, so here I am. However, I might have to cut my session short, because I swear I had plugged my computer in for several hours before coming here, it’s only at 37%. So that’s lame.
Anyway, I’m honestly not too sure what to write about today. I’ve kind of filled y’all in on all the details about my condition and why I’m here. Although, I did get woken up by an ultrasound tech this morning to do a scan of baby. They were very active during the scam, which is good, but they refused to practice their breathing, which is one of the things they look for during these scans, but I had a non stress test right after and we passed that with flying colors, so no worries there at least.
Some of you may know, I have some really weird allergies, which include coconut, pineapple juice, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves. I am sad because today I went to order pizza for lunch but they wouldn’t let me because the pepperoni ingredients just listed “spices”, so they don’t know what all that includes. Dumb. Also, how is that allowed?! Like shouldn’t EVERY ingredient be listed?! So I got a turkey sandwich instead, which surprisingly was pretty good.
Now to talk about something mostly unrelated. Lol. So if you know me at all, you know I am absolutely obsessed with Hamilton. Chris and I actually had tickets to see Ham at The Wharton Center at the end of May, but we obviously won’t be able to go to that now so we had to sell our tickets. :( Well, now I’m EXTRA sad because it’s been announced that Leslie Odom Jr, the actor that originally played Aaron Burr, sir, on Broadway IS RETURNING TO PLAY AARON BURR ON BROADWAY! Y’all, I would pay so much money to go see him! However, that would mean both tickets to the show, and a trip to NYC, which would prove to be very expensive in just food and lodging alone, so alas, we cannot go. (Insert crying emoji here.) I am SO SAD about it! First of all, it would be freaking amazing to see Ham on Broadway at Richard Rodgers Theater to begin with, but to see Leslie play AB in the flesh? Oh man. Almost as good as LMM playing Ham. It’s really not financially feasible for us to go, but if it was a day trip to NYC, I would find a way to make it happen! There’s even a show right on my bday! I did look up tickets, just to see how much they are, and they’re about what I expected. Honestly not too terrible, but like I said, with the trip to NYC, that would make it insanely expensive. So, I decided I’m going to write a letter to LMM explaining our situation, and hope that pulls on his heartstrings and he sends an autographed photo or something. Lol. Or maybe I’ll just get a letter back, which is cool too.
So as y’all know, this Sunday is Easter. What you may not know, however, is that Easter is my favorite day out of the entire year. Let me tell you why. I LOVE the Easter church service. The church we typically attend, Riverview in Holt, always does baptisms that day, and baptisms are my absolute faaaaav. Watching people publicly proclaim their love and acceptance of Jesus makes me so incredibly happy and my heart so full. Sadly, of course, I’ll have to miss the in-person service this year. But thankfully, Riv live streams their services so I’ll be able to watch online. Also kind of a bummer because Chris and I only get Emmett & Grace every other year for Easter, and this year is our year, and I’ll have to miss it. I’m also pretty confident this will be Emmett’s last year believing in the Easter bunny, so that’s kind of sad too. But, Eric is being nice and letting Chris pick them up Saturday night so Chris can do the whole Easter thing with them Sunday morning and Facetime me while they’re looking for their eggs and baskets. Also of course a bummer because this is the first Easter where Ezra can actually kind of look around for eggs. Not sure he’ll fully grasp the concept, but I’m sure it’ll still be fun. I haven’t shared this before publicly, but maybe 6-8 weeks ago we found out Ezra has some allergies, which include milk, eggs, soy, peanuts, hazelnuts, and Brazil nuts. Obviously milk, eggs, and soy are in frickin everything, so that’s obnoxious, but luckily with allergen free stuff being more easily accessible, we’ve been able to find snacks and stuff he’s able to have. We just have to be really careful if we take him out to eat at all. I wanted Ezra to be able to have a chocolate bunny, but I had to search high and low to find one that he’s actually able to have. I finally did find one on Amazon, although the dumb thing cost $10 so I really hope he likes it. Lol.
So yesterday I had gotten a new nurse during the day that I hadn’t had before. Honestly, I think she’s been my fav so far. Her name is LeAsia. LeAsia was the nurse I had the morning after I got moved to the bigger room. I believe I had told you guys previously that the new room came with a diff bed, and it was NOT comfy at all. It was so firm, and I like really soft mattresses. Anyway, I decided to make a big ask and see if I could get my old bed back, because that was actually relatively comfy. Y’all, LeAsia delivered! I hopped into the shower for a bit and she had it all set up for me by the time I got back. I slept so much better last night and didn’t wake up in pain. Plus this bed has a little holder for my phone on the rails, which is pretty nice. Lol. (It’s the little things, ya know?)
Today when I wandered down to the library, which is next to a cafe area with seating, there was next to no one down here, which is really weird because normally it’s super busy and crowded. My normal library lady isn’t here today, so that’s a bummer, but I still like to come here, because it’s so peaceful and quiet, but still gets me out of my room for a bit. They have a video game system down here that has Pac Man, Ms. Pac Man, some digger game I can’t remember the name of, and some other old, classic games like that. I’ve never been good at any of them, but it was fun to play for the nostalgia of it. ALSO, I can’t remember if I told you guys, but the first day I came down here, I discovered they have a bin of Lip Smackers chapstick that you can take, INCLUDING VANILLA! I’m sure y’all are well aware of my excessive use of chapstick, specifically this brand, so that was also very exciting for me. Lol. Vanilla is also my favorite flavor, and you can’t buy it individually from Lip Smackers anymore, (DUMB), so this was a good find for me!
I feel bad…I feel like today’s entry is just a hodgepodge of randomness that really isn’t interesting. Lol. But, I laid a lot down in the first two entries, so I guess I’m making up for it now. Oooh! Since tomorrow is Good Friday, Chris has the day off of work so he’s going to come up here with Ezra so we can all spend some time together, so I’m pretty excited for that! It can be a little challenging keeping a 15 month old entertained here, but he did enjoy either riding around in the wheelchair and/or helping dad push it on Sunday, so there’s that. Lol. Plus the library does have some toys here for kids that he could play with, so maybe we’ll wander down here if they’ll be open tomorrow. They’re not open on the weekend, which is a bummer since that’s the only time Chris and the kids can make it, but it is what it is I guess. Anyway, the library is about to close and my laptop battery is about to die, so I guess that’s it for now. Thanks for reading. Bye friends. Also, I decided I need to have a signature ending, so my new ending is going to be this: And remember, Jesus loves you! (I know it’s cliche, but Idc. lol)
