Day 8

Hello friends! Today is Tuesday, April 22, 2025. Today I was supposed to be a chaperone on Grace’s field trip to Impression 5, (a children’s museum, for those of you not from the Lansing area), but of course I am unable to attend since I’ve been admitted. Chris was still able to take the day off of work though and go with her, so I know she really enjoyed that. I’m sure I’ll get to hear all about it later when the kids call me. My friend Melissa was supposed to visit today, but she forgot she had an appt today, so we’re postponing until tomorrow. It looks like it’s actually supposed to be pretty nice out tomorrow so maybe that’ll work out better. I do have some pretty exciting news though; when the MFM team came in this morning, they said we are all set for the tentative date of May 16! I am pretty excited about that. It gives our baby time to grow and develop just a little bit more, so I am thankful for that.

Oh! I have a funny story to tell you guys. Lol. So, I have several piercings in both of my ears. My right ear has my tragus done. A few days ago, the ball came off when I was sleeping or something. I found the bar on the floor, but the ball with the gem on it was nowhere to be found, so I had Chris bring me some more when he came up on Sunday. Anyway, I can’t actually see what I’m doing to change that piercing, and my nails are too long for me to get a good grip on the ball and screw it on. So, I asked my nurse if she would be willing to help, of course letting her know she didn’t have to since that was probably out of her normal scope of responsibilities. Lol. Yesterday I had Katie again, and she said she didn’t mind at all. However, she was having some trouble, so she called in another nurse to help. Even with the two of them, they were having difficulties, because it’s such a small spot and it’s really difficult to get their fingers in there, and make sure the ball is on correctly and doesn’t fall off. After about 10 mins, they finally got it. Lol. But I had another one I wanted changed out too, because it just had the plastic one in from when I got my MRI done, so I wanted the normal curved barbell back in. This time, they brought in reinforcements. Lol. They called in one of the other girls with small fingers and short nails and she got it on almost instantly. It was honestly pretty commercial, as they had also raised my bed up super high so they weren’t having to bend down at a weird angle. lol . But I still really appreciated all their efforts! They even broke out some surgical tweezers to try and get it. So kudos to Katie, Alissa, and the other girl I don’t know the name of. Lol. Teamwork makes the dreamwork! ALSO, I got a new nurse today named Sandy, and she told me something very exciting…so today is officially my 10th day being admitted, and on day 14, I GET A NEW MENU! 😱 I know that probably doesn’t sound exciting to you guys, but as someone who likes variety and gets bored easily, (see my hair, lol), I’m excited to see what this new menu entrails! It gives me something to look forward to. Lol. I also got a brand new fridge in my room today, which was pretty nice! I guess they recently renovated all of these rooms up on the floor I’m at, but they still had these old crusty fridges, so they’re finally replacing those too. Again, not super exciting, but it’s the little things. lol

So let me tell you a little bit about Ezra’s latest developments. He took his first, unassisted, steps, about 3 weeks ago now. He’s starting to stand on his own more often, and a lot of the time he will clap as well. It’s super cute. Lol. He lovessss when someone grabs his hands and walks him around. He’s a pro at that. Lol. Still working on getting him to walk more unassisted, but he’s getting there.  He also started saying a bunch of words and picking up a bunch of signs all at once! He can now say, “yeah”, (while nodding his head yes; it’s so funny 😛), “mama, dada, bubba, (for brother), snack, uh-oh”, which is his fav when he drops or purposely throws something on the ground, lol, and “all done”, which he signs at the same, time, so that’s extra adorable! He knows how to sign MORE, ALL DONE (FINISH), MOM, DAD, and MILK. We are working on PLEASE, BATH, THANK YOU, WATER, and MISTAKE (to go along with uh-oh). It is my absolute faaaav watching him pick up new things! He’s also learning how to problem solve, which is really cool. He’s learned how to take the lid off of his snacks, and put it back on. He also knows how to throw things, which is cute when he wants to play with a ball, not so much when he feels like he’s done with his food or water cup and throws it on the ground. Lol. Both Emmett & Grace are such a good big brother and sister to him! They absolutely adore him, and are always willing to help out getting him snacks, playing with him, giving him a bath, etc. I don’t know why, but it’s so cute when Ezra takes a drink out of his sippy cup. Lol. He has such a look of concentration on his face and it’s so great 🤣

Hmmm…what else to bore you guys with today? Lol. So, last night I remembered to write Emmett & Grace their letters, and stuck them in the mail drop off today, so I’m hoping the letters will make it to them in a couple of days, but we shall see. All of the mail has to go to GR anyway, so hopefully since it’s starting out here it won’t take as long. I still have to write my letter to LMM, but I wanna make sure that one is extra awesome and written well. Because who wants to write a poorly worded letter to one of the most creative writing geniuses ever?! I know I’m nowhere near his level, but hopefully he’ll still appreciate it. Lol. I feel like by the time I actually get to go home, I will never be happier to sleep in my own bed! The bed I have here is not too terrible, but of course it always feels good to sleep in your own house in your own bed. Plus I won’t be sleeping alone anymore and I’ll have Chris next to me, which will be nice. <3. Kinda one of those things you don’t appreciate as much until you don’t have it. LIke when you have a cold and can’t breathe out of your nose so you have to sleep sitting up? Then when you can finally breathe again you’re oh-so thankful. Lol.

Well, I’ve been sitting here for 10 mins now trying to figure out what to write about and I’ve got nothing. Lol. So I guess that’s all for now folks. And remember, Jesus loves you!
