Day 18 Hello friends! Today is day 18 of me being admitted to the hospital. I wish I would’ve realized it during yesterday’s entry, but yesterday marked 17 days in, and 17 days until baby’s scheduled delivery date, so that means I’m over halfway now! Granted, I will still be admitted 4-5 days after the surgery, and baby will likely be spending 2-4 weeks in the NICU, but we are getting closer! Honestly, I’m unsure how to feel about it. While I am excited to meet our last little bundle of joy, I am still quite nervous and terrified. I am sure I will be anxious the few days leading up to delivery, but luckily my MFM team said they will be able to prescribe me some anxiety meds to help me cope. I just know the day of I’m going to be an absolute mess. It’s going to be so hard knowing Chris won’t be able to go with me into the OR, but I know God’s got us. Let me tell you a little bit about my day today. So I headed down to the library around 2:20 I think. I decided to order Starbucks t...

Day 17 Hello friends! Don’t worry; you didn’t miss an entry yesterday. Funny story about that…so I actually came downstairs after lunch, packed up my laptop and everything, and even brought the charging cord because I knew I had forgotten to charge it prior. I get to the library and get all set up and go to plug it in, but the only available plug is through like a little hole and the charging port won’t fit through there because it’s too big. :( I searched the entire library and couldn’t find another outlet to use, unless I wanted to sit on the floor. And I cannot get off the floor without help, so I decided that was a bad idea. Lol. But, they do have decks of cards here to use so I decided to play solitaire. Lol. I actually had to look up how to play because I forgot how. Lol. And I even had considered bringing my book that day, but decided not to because it makes my bag heavier and I knew what I wanted to write about. That’ll teach me. Lol. Anyway, so I have two bummers I was g...

Day 15 Good afternoon friends! I know I’ve been slacking ab it this week with writing, but I will do my best to catch up. Yesterday was a very busy, but good day. Chris and all the kids got here around 11:45 I think, and stayed till about 5:30. Grace colored two pictures for me, as well as a little wooden caterpillar thing she got for Easter. One picture was some flowers growing from the ground, (they mostly resemble tulips), and the other picture was presumably of the Easter Bunny, and it was very well done! Grace is definitely our talented little artist. Who she got that from, I have no idea cuz neither me or Eric can draw. Lol. Emmett drew me a picture of a sunset. That kid really likes sunsets. Lol. They also brought me the picture they got back from the school dance, and that turned out pretty well! My smile is the worst out of everyone’s. Lol. I never know if it’s better to show teeth or to not, so my on-demand smiles always look awful. Lol. Ezra also had his Spring picture...

Day 13 Okay I know you guys are probably confused by the “Day 13”, but I decided to change it to how many days I have been in the hospital. Just makes things easier to track that way. So I didn’t have an entry the past two days. Weds my friend Melissa came down and I didn’t really feel like writing later in the day, and then yesterday I had a raging headache all day, so I didn’t even leave my room. :( But here I am today, feeling better, so I’m back at it! Let’s talk about Melissa’s visit. She brought her 2 year old son with her. (For privacy reasons I will not be sharing his name.) First she stopped at my house to grab a bag Chris had put together for me. I had failed to ask him to bring me more pants when him and the kids came up on Sunday, so I’m really thankful she was able to do that! Otherwise I probably would have had to just order some on Amazon or see if there’s a place to do laundry around here. Anyway, not only did she do that, she also brought me a giant bag of books ...

Day 8 Hello friends! Today is Tuesday, April 22, 2025. Today I was supposed to be a chaperone on Grace’s field trip to Impression 5, (a children’s museum, for those of you not from the Lansing area), but of course I am unable to attend since I’ve been admitted. Chris was still able to take the day off of work though and go with her, so I know she really enjoyed that. I’m sure I’ll get to hear all about it later when the kids call me. My friend Melissa was supposed to visit today, but she forgot she had an appt today, so we’re postponing until tomorrow. It looks like it’s actually supposed to be pretty nice out tomorrow so maybe that’ll work out better. I do have some pretty exciting news though; when the MFM team came in this morning, they said we are all set for the tentative date of May 16! I am pretty excited about that. It gives our baby time to grow and develop just a little bit more, so I am thankful for that. Oh! I have a funny story to tell you guys. Lol. So, I have sever...

Day 7 Good afternoon friends! Today marks day 7 of me writing in this blog. While it’s technically my 9th day here, as I was admitted on April 12, I didn’t submit my first post until April 14, so that’s what we’re going by here. lol . Anyway, good news is, I’ve made it past my first week in the hospital, and as of today, I am 31w1d pregnant! Hopefully everything will continue to go smoothly and we can make it to that tentative date of May 16. I’m getting down here a little late today, because my lunch took longer than usual to arrive. Normally it’s delivered about 30-45 mins after I order, but today was close to an hour. I must’ve just ordered at a busy time. Today I have Katie again as my day nurse. This marks day 3 in a row, but I’m not complaining! I am sad though because she said her and her family are going to FL for 2.5 weeks after this, so it’ll be awhile until I see her again. I’m happy she’s getting some time off to spend with her family though. I’m hoping to still be he...

Easter Sunday! Happy Easter friends! He is Risen! As I mentioned in one of my previous entries, Easter is my fav day out of the entire year. Now, Easter looks a little different this year than it has in previous years, but that’s okay. I got to see Emmett & Grace for the first time in two weeks, so that was super awesome! Chris picked them up this morning and then all 4 of them headed here to spend some time with me. This was the first time the big kids have seen me in this hospital setting, so I was a little worried about how they would take that, but they overall seemed to be pretty receptive of it and not too worried, which is good. One niceting about my current admittance is that I can still wear regular clothes, so I’m not forced to wear a hospital gown. I think that helped them have a small sense of normalcy, and hopefully not worry too much. Now I do have two IVs in my left arm, so they did show some concern about that, but thankfully I’m not hooked up to an IV pole 24...

Day 5 Hello friends. Today is a bit of a later entry, but still earlier than yesterday. Lol. Since it is now the weekend, the library is closed, so that’s a bummer. I still came downstairs, to the children’s hospital side of things, to come write, but it’s not as quiet as the library. Granted my room is pretty chill, but let’s face it, I need to get out of there every so often. lol . I’ve decided I’m going to start keeping a tally of how many people comment on my Squishmallow tattoo, because it’s usually at least one person/day. Lol. No one yet today, but one of the assistants did yesterday. I’m again unsure what I’m going to write about today, because today is pretty uneventful, (which is honestly good, considering the circumstances). Anyway, when I got downstairs today, I noticed the ice cream shop is closed. I’m really hoping it’s not closed tomorrow, because our plan is to take Emmett & Grace there when they come to visit. I guess if all else fails, there’s a cafe and Sta...

Day 4 Hi friends. Today is a later entry because Chris and Ezra came to visit today! Chris had the day off since it’s Good Friday, so they were able to make the trip out. They spent about six hours here, so that was really nice. Today I learned that across the bridge is a Qdoba & Zoup. Zoup was closed so we opted for Qdoba for lunch. I do get all my meals included here, but every once in awhile it’s a nice change of pace to go get something different. I always feel bad when we have something Ezra isn’t able to eat, which is pretty much all the time because either milk, eggs, and/or soy are in pretty much everything. And a lot of times it’s not safe to risk food places due to cross contamination. But we always make sure we have safe snacks for him, as well as Benadryl & his EpiPen on hand, just in case. Plus, at least if anything were to happen while he’s here, he’s in the right stop to get treatment ASAP! Maybe not super intersting, but we can talk about Ezra’s allergies ...
